Formed in Phoenix, AZ, The Irie blend reggae, alternative rock, and pop to create a fresh, modern sound rooted in good vibes and real-life storytelling. With performances at top festivals and venues nationwide, they continue to build a loyal fan base and a growing digital footprint.
The Irie was formed by George Ruiz in 2012. When drummer of The Irie, Johnny Groove moved back to his hometown of Tempe, AZ from LA he soon linked up with George Ruiz and brother Corey Groove (Previous members of The VeraGroove). The trio realized they had the right fit together and quickly recorded their first single, Toxic Love.
That was just the beginning.. or... the new beginning. Their EP, Coming Down was the next natural step to take, rounding out their sound and offering more of those good vibes. Leading up to their 2nd EP Can't Get Enough which debuted #1 on the iTunes reggae charts.
