Elohim - Half Alive

Elohim is gracing the ever-evolving Lost In Dreams catalog with her label debut, “Half Alive”, a gripping bassline-laden single imbued with a haunting, somber vocal.

Based out of LA, Elohim is a singer/songwriter, producer and DJ whose advocacy for mental health issues has led her to create profoundly visceral and vulnerable experimental pop songs synthesized from raw storytelling and dance-inciting productions. Her catalog has been touted by a head-turning list of outlets from the likes of Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Variety, LA Weekly, Nylon, and more. Now, making her debut appearance on Lost In Dreams Records, Elohim once again demonstrates why she’s captured the hearts and minds of the electronic music sphere.

“Half Alive” is a bass-heavy electronic music number fueled by her signature vocal croons. The sobering delivery is delicate but on the verge of an emotional breakdown, with the poignant lyrics serving as an open book, revealing her internal torment. Her aching desire to feel any semblance of normalcy is accented by soft drum shuffles, haunting vox harmonies, jumbled pitch-shifting murmurs repeating the “I wanna be okay” refrain, and glum synth melodies that shift into shuddering, distorted low-end growls.
