Deekline & Son of Sam ft. Logan – The Big Bad Wolf EP | UK Bass, Garage & Breaks
Content:
UK bass heavyweights Deekline and Son of Sam team up once again, this time alongside Logan, for The Big Bad Wolf EP — a six-track collection packed with bassline pressure, UK Garage grooves, breaks, and plenty of low-end attitude.
Following their previous collaboration on the heavyweight Local, the duo return with a much bigger project that feels closer to a mini-album than a conventional EP.
Big, Bad and Built for the Dancefloor
The title The Big Bad Wolf says plenty about what to expect. This is bass music with serious weight behind it, moving between different styles while maintaining a consistent focus on rhythm, bass, and dancefloor energy.
Across the EP, Deekline and Son of Sam explore several sides of the UK bass spectrum, bringing Logan's contribution into a project that feels cohesive despite its variety.
Expect:
- 4/4 Bassline
- UK Garage
- Breaks
- Heavy low-end pressure
- Rolling bass grooves
- Soulful moments
- Dancefloor-focused production
Six Tracks of Bassline Artistry
The EP features five original tracks, with a sixth addition coming in the form of Yo Speed's remix of the title track.
There's plenty of contrast throughout the project. Rack City brings the gritty, heavyweight side of the EP, while Deeper takes things in a more soulful and atmospheric direction, offering a chance to breathe before the bass comes crashing back in.
That variation is what makes The Big Bad Wolf feel like more than just another collection of club tracks.
From Bassline to UKG and Breaks
One of the strongest aspects of the EP is the way it moves naturally between different corners of UK bass culture.
The 4/4 energy of Bassline and UK Garage sits alongside break-driven rhythms, allowing Deekline and Son of Sam to showcase their understanding of groove and low-end production without being restricted by a single genre.
It's energetic, playful, gritty, and occasionally surprisingly soulful.
A Mini-Album in Everything But Name
With six tracks and a wide range of sounds, The Big Bad Wolf EP feels like a substantial statement from Deekline and Son of Sam.
Rather than producing six variations on the same idea, the pair use the project to explore different moods and tempos while maintaining a clear musical identity.
The result is a release that should work just as well in a packed club as it does for listeners exploring the deeper side of UK bass.
