Kabaka Pyramid – We Dem Wah | 90s Dancehall-Inspired Reggae

Kabaka Pyramid brings a taste of the golden era of 90s Dancehall and Hip-Hop to his latest release, “We Dem Wah”, drawing inspiration from Jamaican icons including Super Cat and Ninjaman while putting his own contemporary spin on the sound.

Built around a reimagining of one of Dancehall's most recognisable basslines, We Dem Wah channels classic Jamaican sound system energy through Kabaka's commanding delivery and sharp lyricism.

There's a playful confidence running through the track, celebrating the competitive spirit and attitude that helped define 90s Dancehall while allowing Kabaka to explore a lighter side of his artistry.

Produced by Jazzwad, the track forms part of Kabaka Pyramid's Rebel Music – The Lyrics Tape, a project celebrating 15 years since his breakthrough Rebel Music EP.

For an artist whose music has always blended Reggae, Dancehall and Hip-Hop, We Dem Wah feels like a natural look back at the sounds that helped shape him — while keeping the energy firmly in the present.
